Corona Container… And Next Year We Dance Again

It’s Sunday, July 26, 2020. We are walking through the streets of Berlin. For hours now. Side by side. Shoulder to shoulder. Hand in hand with friends, lovers and our chosen family. Together, not alone. We are walking through the streets of Berlin. On and on. Passing the Bundestag, where the rainbow flag is waving. Passing the Russian embassy, pointing the finger at them. Passing the Hungarian embassy, almost throwing a stone. Passing the memorial for the hunted homosexuals under National Socialism. We’ll keep quiet. We pause. We remember. And then we go on. Through the streets of Berlin. On and on. We are loud. We make noise. We dance. We sing. We party. We kiss. We show who we are. We are colourful and we are many.

It is Sunday, July 26, 2020. We are sitting in the office, writing this post. It is Corona time, we do not demonstrate on the streets. But we’re there. So let’s celebrate our queerness, our diversity, our otherness. Thank you, Birk Thomassen, for celebrating with us with a Best Of, with which we honor this day. And next year we dance again.
