Kids Of The Diaspora: Deconstruct The Concept Of Minority

Brnad Kids Of The Diaspora

Words Tom Czibolya

Kids Of The Diaspora is a poetic fashion movement that invites everyone to embrace themselves and not to compromise their personality and appearance. The brand finds its inspiration in contemporary diaspora dimensions. It is a safe haven for all who are in search of identity and gives people the freedom to belong to a community of like-minded people. Regardless of gender, sexual interest, heritage and color.

Kids Of The Diaspora is more than a fashion brand, it’s the mentally of a community that connect over empathy and experiences they have in common. Let’s finish this introduction with their strong message: “We are closer to each other than we think – our roots run deep.” We had a little chat with Leni Charles und Cherellone about love and safe space, Container Love’s winter topic.

“For us love is what keeps the spirit alive when nothing else makes sense anymore.”

Regarding our current topic – Safe Space. What is a safe space for you?

Our Ambassador shirt was product of the urge we felt to create that safe space, also we had the a real space, a showroom in Vienna, where we had all kinds of events, celebrations and talks until we realised that this safe space is something we create everything day. It comes from within ourselves, goes far beyond the places and unfolds in our soultribe – the connection with like minded souls. Our fashion makes the bond visible.

We all love inspiration. And we all could use a little splash of it right now. Where do you get your ideas? And in what ways does your creative process have an effect on your daily life?

We can get inspiration through basically everything. Probably due to our Yoruba roots and the fact that we believe in the “Ashé”, the universal life force that flows through everything and is therefore the force behind any inspiration.

Building a brand and creating new products is always part of the daily creative engine. What should never be missing in your creative process?

Responsibility.

We love brands and products with a strong message behind them. What’s yours?

Deconstruct the concept of minority.

How do you spread love with your product?

We put in all our hearts and send out sparks.

Which hype do you follow daily? What makes it so magical for you?

Meditation – it changes your whole world and that is some kind of magic.

For us love is diversity — of sexualities, ethnicities, genders, something that smashes the container. So what is love for you?

For us love is what keeps the spirit alive when nothing else makes sense anymore.

What would you really like to do? Right now? Instead of answering these little questions…

Sit on the beach in our boutique hotel (which we dream of owning one day) and breathe. Thank you for this question.

“We are closer to each other than we think – our roots run deep.”
