The making of the music video for The Irrepressibles’ song “Ecstasy Homosexuality” was a special experience for all of us at Container Love. Created by the director behind our award-winning titles such as “Love Has No Label” and “The Hidden Dimension”, Ben Galster, and featuring some of our Love Talents, the music video tells the story of a young man, recovering from a recent breakup. He joins his best friend on a weekend getaway, where he unexpectedly finds new love amidst the vibrant company of his peers.
“Ecstasy Homosexuality” is an unfiltered portrayal of gay liberation, sexuality, and the many kinds of love relationships can include. Archival footage of protest related to the Stonewall Riots, a seismic event for the LGBTQ+ movement is a key part of the film, and so are the images by a unique selection of Container Love artists.
For over 11 years, Container Love has been a platform supporting creators who stand for the same values as us, freedom and equality for all, and whose creative vision is defined by queer culture. The works of these photographers, painters, and visual artists tap into the queer experience: these are pictures of love, liberation, and genuine human connection that goes beyond lust. Many of the artists featured in the music video for “Ecstasy Homosexuality” are also taking part in our freshly opened online Love Shop, all of them members of the extended Container Love family. We collected their artworks, as seen in the extended version of the music video, for this editorial to show appreciation and to celebrate identities as they deserve to be celebrated, boldly and beautifully.
