Ansgar Sollmann: The Present Is Genderless

Artist Ansgar Sollmann

Words Tom Czibolya

“Seeing people letting go completely and immersing into a world of their own is what I enjoy the most. In this sense, these images are pure to me” – London-based fashion and portrait photographer Ansgar Sollman shot performer and queer tastemaker Tarik Tesfu for Container Love and we are in love with the results. Ansgar’s series captures the defiant icon that is Tarik right in the middle of his favorite Berlin neighborhood. As part of Container Love’s first printed Visibility Issue and Visible Love exhibition, these images channel an important message. In Tarik’s words, “Visibility means that the media takes responsibility in enabling diversity to thrive not only in front of but behind the camera too.”
