Gerard Molón: Put Your Heart Into It
Artist Gerard Molón
Words Tom Czibolya
“I love how people present themselves to others, whether it’s through clothing, their actions and reactions. Human beings are so unique, different and intriguing, that’s why getting to know others is such a big experience” – after spending almost a decade in London’s world of fashion, Gerard Molón recently relocated to his hometown, Barcelona. In London, his creative eye, skills and drive have led him to get involved in different disciplines within the overall fashion industry, including styling, production, and model scouting. His multidisciplinary talent came in handy when working on “ArMOUR”, his latest editorial exclusively produced for Container Love. The idea of using a shiny gauntlet as the only accessory for the shots has to do with symbolism: the single piece of body armor represents protection, strength, and the fight for queer love.
“I’ve always soaked up art and creativity from other family members when I was a kid, later on through my studies and colleagues. Inspiration can be found in so many forms and places nowadays, especially with instant access online.” Gerard’s talent for feeding these inspirations into outstanding visuals made him a contributor for Sicky Magazine, Timeout Ghana, Elle Decoration, GQ India, MOB journal, NON Magazine, and more as he’s taking on commissions with the same, all-in mentality that makes the works such as “ArMOUR” so amazing. “Doing things with your whole heart, and with the best intentions is what matters the most to me.” Gerard’s editorial, “ArMOUR” is part of Container Love’s latest special, Spring Is My Love, our ongoing series celebrating a new season with beautiful, new artists to discover!
